What are brushless motors and the benefits of brushless motors
Brushless DC motor is a typical mechatronics product composed of the motor body and driver. Due to the self controlled operation of brushless DC motors, they do not add additional starting windings to the rotor like synchronous motors that start with heavy loads under variable frequency speed regulation, nor do they generate oscillations and out of step during sudden load changes.
The permanent magnets of small and medium-sized brushless DC motors are now mostly made of high magnetic energy product rare earth neodymium iron boron (Nd Fe B) material. Therefore, the volume of rare earth permanent magnet brushless motors is reduced by one frame number compared to three-phase asynchronous motors of the same capacity.
The Benefits of Brushless Motors
Advantages of brushless motors:
High efficiency and low energy consumption. The application of brushless motors is being vigorously promoted worldwide, and this is closely related to the performance advantages of brushless motors. From the perspective of energy consumption, it is indeed a trend.
Low noise (silent), smooth operation. Brushless motors without brushes greatly reduce friction during operation, resulting in smoother operation and much lower noise. This is an advantage for many applications, such as home appliances, industrial automation, and medical industries, which require a quiet environment.
Long service life and low maintenance costs. The structural characteristics of brushless motors determine their long lifespan, and within a reasonable range of use, brushless motors basically do not require additional maintenance costs.
Wide application range and excellent control effect. The brushless motor is equipped with a controller (driver) that can achieve control from simple to complex, and can meet various communication requirements (such as, can, etc.), so that in addition to meeting some conventional mechanical actions, it can also execute complex control commands. And with the widespread use of magnetic encoders in recent years, they can replace some simple servo applications.
The above four points are the core advantages of brushless motors, and we also hope that brushless motors can be widely used.
